Trouble accessing the s3 bucket

I am trying to run the example code for accessing the s3 bucket found in the documentation, however it seems not to be working.
'requests.exceptions.InvalidSchema: No connection adapters were found for 's3://vcthackathon-data/vct-international/esports-data/leagues.json.gz'
